UV Marked Workwear

UV Marking is fast becoming one of the go-to techniques for applying a company name or logo onto a wide range of workwear garments. As a quick reminder, UV Marking is the process of applying a design directly onto fabric using ultraviolet curing technology, creating sharp, vibrant and reliably long-lasting results.

UV marked personalised workwear is more than capable of withstanding the regular and often intensive washing that commercial garments are subjected to, which goes a long way to explaining why it has become such a popular choice among business owners looking to build or strengthen a consistent identity for their brand.

Here at US Clothing, we handle every stage of our UV Marking service in-house, relying on our experienced team and the latest state-of-the-art equipment to deliver consistently high-quality results, no matter where in the world our clients are based.

Key advantages of UV marked workwear (in detail):

UV Marking is known for providing a sharp, professional look, thanks to the crisp definition of the finish compared to more traditional customisation methods. That alone makes it particularly valuable to businesses and clubs, whose staff will be wearing their polo shirts and other UV marked workwear in front of customers on a daily basis. It combines this key advantage with several more practical benefits too, most notably its durability. Because the design is cured directly onto the fabric using ultraviolet technology, it's exceptionally long-lasting and therefore won't fade in the wash, while standing up well to inclement weather like heavy rain, and other more demanding elements of certain work environments. All of this means that the design will be around for as long as the garment itself. Partially because of this, it's also frequently recommended for headwear, such as caps. The versatility of UV Marking for workwear is another big draw. Certain types of customisation techniques are better suited to some types of garments rather than others, whereas UV Marking can work with a wide range of fabrics and materials. That makes UV marked workwear a highly accessible, reliable and effective option for almost any organisation, business or brand.

What garments can be UV marked?

UV Marking works with a wide range of clothing. It's particularly useful for versatile garments suited to varied environments, including polo shirts, hi-viz jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, business shirts or blouses, aprons or tabards, jackets, and headwear like hats and caps.

The sharp, resilient finish, combined with the durable nature of these garments, means that UV marked workwear stands up well to conditions in even the most challenging environments, and will not fade with frequent laundering. That makes it useful not just for commercial workwear and company uniforms, but also for sports teams and similarly physically active organisations.

UV Marking Process

For the first step of the process, all we need from you is a high-resolution image of your artwork, rendered at an appropriate size. (This ensures that it will show up clearly and crisply on your finished UV marked workwear.)

When you send us your artwork, we'll use the latest software to prepare it for printing, converting it into a format that's ready for our UV printing equipment. This gives us a proof, which is designed to give an accurate indication of exactly what your garments will look like. The proof essentially acts as a digital template for our specialised UV printers, which they'll use to apply your artwork onto your garments.

Each design file is stored within our system, so it can be used and re-used as many times as necessary. (The amount of time it takes to complete each design is strongly dependent on its size and level of detail, rather than the number of colours involved.)

So, as soon as your design's been prepared, we'll then send you a final PDF version, so that you can give your final approval before we go ahead.

As soon as the last instructions (such as colour specifications) have been submitted, the UV Marking process itself begins. This involves the artwork being precisely applied onto the garment, before being passed under ultraviolet light, which instantly cures the design and bonds it firmly to the fabric. This ensures a crisp, durable finish that's ready to wear straightaway.

Once the garments have been marked, we just have to make a few final arrangements, and then we can ship your UV marked workwear to you. Simple and straightforward -- just how we like to do things here at US Clothing.
