Engraved Workwear
Engraving is fast becoming one of the most sought-after methods for adding a company name or logo to workwear accessories and clothing components. As a quick reminder, engraving is the process of precisely marking a design directly onto fabric-related surfaces such as buttons, zip pullers, badges and leather or faux-leather patches, resulting in a refined, permanent and distinctly premium finish.
Engraved personalised workwear accessories are built to withstand the wear and tear of daily commercial use, holding their sharp, detailed appearance wash after wash and season after season, which explains why so many business owners rely on it to give their brand a polished, professional edge.
Here at US Clothing, we handle every stage of the engraving process in-house, using our own skilled team and advanced laser engraving equipment to guarantee consistent quality and precision on every single order.
Key advantages of workwear engraving (in detail):
Engraving is known for delivering an especially premium, high-end look, thanks to the crisp, permanent nature of the finish compared to printed or stitched alternatives. That alone makes it particularly valuable to businesses and clubs, whose staff will be presenting engraved badges, buttons or accessories in front of customers on a daily basis.
It combines this key advantage with several more practical benefits too, most notably its durability. Because the design is precisely cut or marked into the material itself, it's exceptionally long-lasting and therefore won't fade, peel or wear away over time, while standing up well to frequent handling and the more demanding elements of certain work environments. All of this means that the design will remain sharp and legible for as long as the item itself is in use. Partially because of this, it's also frequently recommended for smaller accessories such as buttons, zip pullers and badges.
The versatility of engraving for workwear is another big draw. Certain types of customisation techniques are better suited to some materials rather than others, whereas engraving can work effectively across a wide range of fabric-related accessories and components. That makes engraved workwear a highly accessible, reliable and effective option for almost any organisation, business or brand.
What items can be engraved?
Engraving works well across a wide range of clothing accessories and components - it's particularly useful for the harder-wearing elements found on workwear designed for intensive environments, including buttons, zip pullers, badges, buckles, leather or faux-leather patches, and metal or plastic trims used on jackets, hi-viz wear, aprons and headwear.
The permanent, precise finish, combined with the durable nature of these materials, means that engraved workwear accessories stand up well to conditions in even the most demanding environments, and will not fade or wear away with frequent handling or use. That makes it useful not just for commercial workwear and company uniforms, but also for sports teams and similarly active organisations.
Workwear Engraving Process
For the first step of the process, all we need from you is a high-resolution image of your artwork, rendered at an appropriate size. (This ensures that it will show up clearly and sharply on your finished engraved items.)
When you send us your artwork, we'll use the latest software to convert it into a precise digital template, ready for our engraving machines. This gives us a file that provides an accurate indication of exactly what your engraved accessories will look like. The template essentially acts as a digital guide for our specialised laser engraving equipment, which will use it to mark your artwork onto the chosen material.
Each template is stored on the machine itself, so it can be used and re-used as many times as necessary. (The amount of time it takes for the machine to complete each design is strongly dependent on the level of detail and size of the artwork, rather than the number of colours.)
So, as soon as your design's been converted, we'll then send you a final PDF version, so that you can give your final approval before we go ahead.
As soon as the last instructions (such as the finish or depth of engraving) have been submitted, the engraving process itself begins. This involves the item being carefully secured in place, while the laser precisely cuts or marks the design onto the surface. This bit is important because it ensures a clean, accurate result with every single piece.
Once the items have been engraved, we just have to make a few final arrangements, and then we can ship your engraved workwear accessories to you. Simple and straightforward -- just how we like to do things here at US Clothing.
