Embroidered Workwear
Embroidery remains one of the most trusted methods for adding a company name or logo to workwear garments of every kind. As a quick reminder, it involves stitching a design directly into the fabric, resulting in a finish that is both visually striking and built to last.
Garments finished with embroidery hold up remarkably well under the regular, often intensive washing that commercial clothing tends to go through, which explains why so many business owners rely on it to build a consistent and recognisable identity for their brand.
At US Clothing, every embroidery project is handled entirely in house. We do not outsource any part of the process, choosing instead to depend on the expertise of our own skilled team alongside the modern, high-precision machinery we have invested in.
Key advantages of embroidered workwear
Embroidery is widely recognised for giving garments a genuinely prestigious and professional appearance, largely down to the raised, solid texture of the finish when compared with printed designs. This makes it especially valuable for businesses, clubs and organisations whose staff represent the brand daily, wearing polo shirts and other embroidered items directly in front of customers and clients.
Alongside this polished look sits a range of practical benefits, with durability standing out as one of the most important. Since the design is woven directly into the fabric rather than sitting on the surface, it holds up exceptionally well over time, resisting fading through repeated washing while remaining resilient against harsh weather and the demands of tougher working environments. As a result, the design lasts for the full lifetime of the garment. This durability is one of the key reasons embroidery is so often recommended for headwear, including caps and beanies.
The sheer versatility of embroidery is another major advantage. While some customisation methods only suit certain fabrics or garment types, embroidery adapts comfortably to almost any material. This makes it a dependable, accessible and effective choice for businesses, teams and organisations of every size, wherever in the world they are based.
What garments can be embroidered
Embroidery is suited to almost any type of clothing, though it works especially well on heavier, more hardwearing garments designed for use in demanding environments. This includes polo shirts, hi-vis jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, business shirts and blouses, aprons and tabards, jackets, as well as headwear such as hats and caps.
The combination of a durable finish and sturdy garment construction means embroidered workwear can withstand even the toughest working conditions, all while resisting fading through frequent washing. This makes it an ideal solution not only for commercial workwear and company uniforms, but also for sports teams and other physically active organisations that need their branding to last.
Our workwear embroidery process
To get started, all we need from you is a high-resolution image of your artwork, sized appropriately for the garment in question. This ensures the finished design appears crisp and clear once stitched onto your workwear.
Once we have received your artwork, our team uses the latest digitising software to convert it into a stitch ready format. This produces what is known as a jacquard file, which acts as an accurate digital preview of how your design will look once embroidered. The jacquard also serves as the template our embroidery machines follow when stitching your artwork onto each garment.
Every jacquard is saved directly onto the machine, allowing it to be reused whenever needed. Interestingly, the time it takes to complete a design depends far more on the number of stitches involved than on how many colours are used, contrary to what many people assume.
Once your design has been digitised, we send over a final PDF proof so you can review and approve everything before production begins.
After your final instructions, including thread colours, have been confirmed, the embroidery process gets underway. A metal frame is fitted onto the garment, and a backing fabric is placed behind the logo area to keep everything secure while stitching takes place. This can occasionally leave a faint temporary mark on the fabric, though it disappears easily with a light rub or a normal wash.
Once stitching is complete, we carry out a few final checks before your embroidered workwear is packaged and shipped out to you. Straightforward, reliable and exactly how we like to work.
