DTF Printed Workwear

DTF printing is fast becoming one of the most popular techniques for applying sharp, full-colour logos and designs onto a wide range of workwear garments. As a quick refresher, DTF stands for Direct to Film printing, a process where a design is printed onto a special film, coated with adhesive powder, and then heat pressed directly onto the fabric, resulting in vivid, richly detailed and long-lasting results. DTF printed personalised workwear holds up brilliantly even under the frequent and intensive washing that commercial garments are typically subjected to, which goes a long way towards explaining why it has become such a popular choice among business owners looking to build or strengthen a consistent, recognisable identity for their brand. Here at US Clothing, we keep our entire DTF printing process in-house, relying on our experienced team and the latest specialist equipment to deliver consistently high-quality results, whether you are ordering a handful of garments or placing a large bulk order for delivery anywhere in the world.

Key Advantages of Workwear DTF Printing (In Detail)

DTF printing is known for delivering exceptionally vivid, full-colour results, thanks to its ability to capture intricate detail and gradients that other techniques simply cannot match. That alone makes it particularly valuable to businesses and clubs, whose staff will be wearing their printed polo shirts and other DTF workwear in front of customers on a daily basis. It combines this key advantage with several more practical benefits too, most notably its durability. Because the design is heat pressed directly into the fabric fibres, it forms a strong, flexible bond that won't crack, peel or fade in the wash, while standing up well to inclement weather like heavy rain, and other more gruelling elements of certain work environments. All of this means that the design will be around for as long as the garment itself. Partially because of this, it's also frequently recommended for garments with tricky textures or stretch fabrics, where other methods can struggle. The versatility of DTF printing for workwear is another big draw. Certain types of customisation techniques are better suited to some types of garments rather than others, whereas DTF printing can work with almost any kind of fabric, including blends and technical materials. That makes DTF printed workwear a highly accessible, reliable and effective option for almost any organisation, business or brand.

What Garments Can Be DTF Printed?

DTF printing works with almost any clothing, and it is particularly useful for garments with more technical or textured fabrics, including polo shirts, hi-viz jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, business shirts or blouses, aprons or tabards, jackets, and headwear like hats and caps.

The vibrant, durable finish, combined with the flexible nature of the transfer, means that DTF printed workwear stands up well to conditions in even the most challenging environments, and will not fade with frequent laundering. That makes it useful not just for commercial workwear and company uniforms, but also for sports teams and similarly physically active organisations.

DTF Printing Process

For the first step of the process, all we need from you is a high-resolution image of your artwork, rendered at an appropriate size. (This ensures that it will show up clearly and crisply on your finished DTF printed workwear.) When you send us your artwork, we'll use the latest software to prepare it for printing, adjusting the colours and resolution to get the best possible result. Your design is then printed onto a special film using specialist DTF printers, before a fine adhesive powder is applied and cured, ready for the next stage. This film essentially acts as a digital transfer, giving an accurate indication of exactly what your garments will look like once finished. Each film can be produced as many times as necessary, so repeat orders are always quick and consistent. (Unlike some other methods, DTF printing time is largely dependent on the size and complexity of the design, rather than the number of colours used, so multi-coloured designs cost no more than single-colour ones.) So, as soon as your design has been prepared, we'll then send you a final proof, so that you can give your final approval before we go ahead. As soon as the last instructions have been submitted, the printing process itself begins. This involves the printed film being carefully positioned onto the garment, before a heat press applies controlled heat and pressure to transfer the design permanently onto the fabric. This bit is important because it ensures the design bonds properly with the fibres, giving a smooth, durable finish that will not crack or peel. Once the garments have been pressed, we just have to make a few final arrangements, and then we can ship your DTF printed workwear to you, wherever you are in the world. Simple and straightforward -- just how we like to do things here at US Clothing.
